Slang is a big part of what defines a culture. Call it what you like. Dialect, slang, jargon; it sets one country apart from other countries that speak the same language.
Just like how the United States has words in the English language that differ from words used in the United Kingdom, Costa Rican slang words set Costa Rica apart from other Spanish speaking countries. Here are a few of the words I’ve come across and what they mean.
Slang words in Costa Rica:
